Spring 2010

Atlantica Vox songs are now available on internet radio stations Jango and Last FM---visit the "Music" page of this site for links.  For anyone
that isn't familiar with those sites, I would highly recommend them.  You just go to the sites, log in, and then type in your favorite bands.  The
stations then play songs from your favorite artists, as well as similar bands that you might be interested in.  It's a great way to listen to your
favorites, and at the same time discover new music that's in keeping with your tastes.  I've discovered a bunch of great bands that were just
under the radar in the late 70's and early 80's---there's so much good music out there that for one reason or another never got widespread
airplay.

As far as Atlantica Vox goes, I've been plugging away on new songs for the last year.  I've migrated away from my stand-alone hard disc
mini-studio, to doing everything on the computer, and I'm trying to bring the quality up a bit from my last recordings.  It can be tough for a
solo artist like myself to wear so many hats---from the songwriting and performance, to the recording, mixing and mastering.  There's a lot of
things to learn, and a lot of (sometimes completely unrelated) skills to master.  It's quite satisfying when the final result sounds good,
though!  I've finished one new song, called "New Day Comes Again", which was a song I actually wrote in the mid 90s, but felt it could benefit
from a reworking.  That song should be up on my MySpace page by early June.

Thanks for stopping by, and please visit me at some of the links on the "Music" page!

Bye for now,

Update: August, 2010

"New Day Comes Again", my new single, is up now on my MySpace page, as well as Jango radio.  I'm pretty happy with this song, as I feel I've
improved my mixing and mastering skills a bit.  I wrote this song originally in the mid-90s, and wanted to rework it a bit to reflect my more
recent sounding stuff.  People have said they hear Springsteen, Simple Minds and Big Country in this one, and I reckon that's pretty accurate,
as far as my influences are concerned.  Although I think I've got my own vibe that's different from those bands, however, and this song also
fits pretty well into the Atlantica Vox catalog.  Although it's great to bring your influences into your own music, at the end of the day, I think the
reason most of us decide to make our own music is because we have things to communicate that can't be completely found in the music that
inspired us---we have to set out on our own path and say what we've got to say.  All right, enough of my yappin'----I hope folks like the new
song, and you can follow the links on the "music" page if you'd like to purchase an mp3!  --K
